OUR NIPPERS PROGRAM

Our Nippers program aims to instil the children with the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge to enjoy the beach environment safely. For enquiries please contact our Nippers Coordinator, Nicole Dwyer (nippers@portfairyslsc.com.au).

Nippers first session Sunday 30th November 2025 and last session (with presentations) Sunday 1st February 2026

The program includes Starfish Nippers, which caters for children with special needs. More information can be found here.

Age Groups. Nippers must be at least five years old on 30 September 2025 to start nippers. If children turn five years old in the few months after this date they may be able to join the later sessions after they have turned five. Please contact our nippers coordinator for more information.

Preliminary Swim Assessment. All nippers must pass this assessment each year before joining the session. This includes nippers who have already passed the test in previous years. We are working in collaboration with Belfast Aquatics in Port Fairy to assess all of our Nippers. The days that have been set for our Nippers to be assessed in November are as follows; Sundays between 11am and 1pm or Monday nights between 4pm and 6pm.

Volunteers. If you are interested in learning more or registering your interest to volunteer with a Nipper Age group, please leave your details in the link below. We are extremely grateful for the time and effort given from all of our volunteers and we can’t wait for our Nippers program to commence !
